College is back again for 2009 and we promise it to be even more inspiring and fun!
Taking place this year from July 27th- August 2nd at the ACNA centre, Nottingham. Kulture College
is designed for young people aged 12-15 from Afrikan, African Caribbean and dual heritage backgrounds.

WE ARE AN AFRIKAN PEOPLE...

are the first few words of the ‘Afrikan Pledge’; but really what does this mean
in reality? As someone who describes his ‘ethnic origin’ as Afrikan, and as
Baba Marcus Garvey would have said, “an Afrikan abroad”, increasingly I wonder
how much tenure this term has with the majority of Afrikans abroad and
particularly here in the UK, where tags such as Black, African-Caribbean,
Black-British, and even ‘Afropean’ appear to be more comfortable garments. In
